Ultra Trail Scotland
20th-21st June 2020 

Arran Skyline

Arran Skyline will be held over a gruelling 45km course with over 3500m overall ascent, taking in some of the most beautiful and challenging ridgelines in Scotland. For the first time in 2020 we will be part of the Skyrunner UK & Ireland series.

Timings
  • Friday 19th June
    • ​Registration - 12:00pm until 10:00pm at the Ormidale Sports Pavilion, Brodick KA27 8DL
    • Pasta Party - 6:30pm at the Ormidale Hotel, Brodick KA27 8BY
    • Race Briefing - 7:30pm at the Ormidale Hotel
  • Saturday 20th June
    • Startline - 7:30am competitors should report to the Ormidael Sports Pavilion 
    • Race Start - 8:00am
    • Race Finish - 10pm 

Cut Off Points - For runner safety there is one cut off point that will be used during the race. Competitors who have not reached the support point at North Sannox by 4:30pm (26km point) will not be allowed to continue back onto the ridgeline and will be transported back to Brodick. In addition we will also be using a discretionary cut off point at 28km, if the events staff feel a runner is struggling (physically/timing), they will be instructed to descend via Glen Rosa rather than completing the final Tarsuinn Ridge.

Arran 26km 

 'Tarsuinn Trail' - A classic loop taking in some of the main ridgelines and traverses on Arran. At a little over 26km with 2000m+, the race will take place during the early afternoon on Saturday and will include some the same technical elements of the main race.

  • Sunday 21st June
    • Registration - 8:30am until 11:15am at the Ormidale Sports Pavilion, Brodick KA27 8DL
    • Startline/Race Briefing - 11:30am competitors should report to the Ormidal Sports Pavilion 
    • Race Start - 12:00pm
    • Race Finish - 10pm 

Cut Off Points - While there are no specific timing cut off points within the race, for safety a discretionary cut off may be applied at the 13.5km point, if the events staff feel a specific runner is struggling physically and they will be instructed to descend via Glen Rosa rather than completing the final Tarsuinn Ridge.

Event Logistics

As we progress towards the event, registered athletes will be kept up to date with all relevant logistic and on-day guidance and course GPX files. However this is Arran, and as well as running we hope you will have both the time and motivation to enjoy all that it has to offer, whether it be the food, the drink, the produce and its hospitality.
