Race Entry
When do entries open?
Confirmation on entry details will be published early February 2022
Cancellation Policy
If you have entered but are unable to race we will offer a full refund until 3 months before the race, March 20th. After this date refunds will not be offered.
Transfer of Entry
Transferring your race entry to another runner is strictly forbidden.

Race Information
What is the terrain like?
The terrain on both the Arran Skyline and Tarsuinn Trail is very varied, from beach to forest track, technical ridges, smooth single track and a little traditional Scottish bog.
Which type of shoes do I need?
Trail/Fell shoes with good grip are essential, road shoes are prohibited.
Is there a mandatory kit list?
Yes, please check the kit list page on the website
Can I use poles?
No, poles are strictly prohibited as part of our license agreement. Anyone caught using poles will face disqualification.
Is there a drop bag facility?
For Arran Skyline there will be a drop bag facility available at the North Sannox Checkpoint. Please bring your drop bags to the Ormidale Sports Pavilion on race morning clearly marked with your race number. Anything that you don’t use at North Sannox will be returned to Ormidale Sports Pavilion for your collection after the race.
For Tarsuinn Trail there is no drop bag facility.
Where are the checkpoints?
Checkpoints are marked on the race map on the Event 2020 page.
What will be available at the checkpoints?
Each checkpoint will have water, sports drink, energy bars, sweets & savoury snacks.
Are there cut off times?
For Arran Skyline there will be a cut off time at North Sannox checkpoint, exact details on the Event 2020 page.
There are no cut off points on the Tarsuinn Trail.
Is the course marked?
Yes, both routes are very well marked from start to finish
What will be available at the finish area?
There will be drinks and snacks available at the finish. Showers will be available in the Ormidale Sports Pavilion.
Is there an extensive race rules list?
The race is run under Scottish Athletics rules.

Where should I wear my number?
Race numbers must be worn on your front and must be visible at all times.
What should I do if I get lost?
If you haven’t seen a course marking for more than 200m please retrace your steps until you see a marking and follow the correct route. If you are unable to find the course again please contact the emergency number given to you at race registration. Mobile phone reception is available on most of the course, if you are struggling for a signal please move to an area where you pick up the signal again and contact the emergency number. We advise all runners to upload the GPX track of the race to their watch. GPX files are available to download from the Event 2020 page on the website.
What should I do if I want to abandon the race?
If you want to leave the race at any point you MUST tell a race marshal or race HQ as soon as possible, failure to do this will result in emergency services searching for you.
What should I do if I am injured?
If the injury is not too serious and you are able to get yourself off the hill please continue to the nearest checkpoint and tell a marshal.
If the injury is serious please contact the emergency number given to you at race registration.
What should I do if I find an injured runner?
You must contact the emergency number given to you at registration as quickly as possible and stay with the injured runner until help arrives.
Will there be medical support available on the course?
Yes, we will have trained professionals at various points on the route
